Adult Radical Exploration
9:30-10:20 am Sundays in the Glass Classroom
Our Adult Religious Exploration class will be discussing Unitarian Universalist Ethics using our UU values and principles. We are examining ethical concepts, dilemmas, and questions to help participants clarify and expand their ethical understanding. Participants examine how they have arrived at ethical positions that they hold dear. Explore new perspectives, identify areas for further questions and exploration, and perhaps more fully embrace ethical positions reached through careful discernment. We will deepen and expand participants’ knowledge and skills for a process of ethical reflection that is central to living our Unitarian Universalist faith.
The very popular, Stress Less Sundays time of meditation, will be held on the 3rd Sunday of each month!
The Radical Exploration Program for Adults strives for:
- Opportunities to be introduced to new ideas and experiences
- Opportunities for people to tell their own stories
- Opportunities to deepen understanding of Unitarian Universalism
- Encounters with wisdom from the sources of our living Unitarian Universalist tradition—direct experience, words and deeds of prophetic people, the world’s religions, Jewish and Christian tradition, humanist teachings and the guidance of reason, and spiritual teachings of earth-centered traditions
- Communities of care, support, and concern
- Engagement with ethical and moral questions
- Calls to faith in action, working within the congregation and in the wider world to build communities or justice and love
- Spiritual experiences which inspire, transform, and sustain
